The War Of The Beauty Boxes
This month I am not doing my usual monthly Birchbox review instead I want to compare Birchbox which I have used for a year now and Glossy Box which I used to use about 2 years ago but then stopped and switched to Birchbox.
For the past few month’s now I have thought it was a time to depart from Birchbox, I felt like the products weren’t suiting me so I wasn’t eager to take pictures and blog about them but I couldn’t click the ‘un-subscribe’ because the boxes are so pretty and that’s what I most look forward to most if I’m honest, now Sam surprised me with 2 Glossybox’s for Christmas and accidentally brought the January box, he knew I wanted to take the leap but I was so indecisive so he did it for me, enough of me rambling make sure you read to the end of this blog to see which box I have chosen for 2018.

Monthly – £10 + £2.95 p&p a month – No commitment, cancel anytime
6 monthly – £60 + £2.95 p&p a month – Free delivery on your first box
Yearly – £110 + £2.95 p&p a month – 1 box free
Packaging: Every month is a different theme which adds a special touch and makes great pictures for blog posts and instagram posts.
Discounts: Most months they give you discount codes from company’s that have teamed up with Birchbox which I think is great.
Online shops: Birchbox have their own online shop where you can buy the products that you have loved in your box.
Social Media: The Birchbox app brilliant, it’s so easy to use and navigate.
Quality of the products: The box cost £10 and most of the products add up to that price so it’s not really good value for money
Samples: Some of the samples you receive are way to small and you can only get 1 – 2 uses out of them.

1 monthly plan – £10 + £3.25 p&p – Keep it rolling – recurring monthly billing
3 monthly plan – £28.50 + £3.25 p&p – Recurring 3 month subscription
6 month plan – £54 + £3.25 p&p – Recurring 6 month subscription
12 month plan – £102 + £3.25 p&p – Recurring annual billing – save £18.
Packaging: You don’t have a different theme each month like Birchbox but the packaging is beautiful, it’s wrapped up in tissue paper and ribbon and all the products are well kept in shredded paper.
Products: You get your money’s worth, you get at least 1 full size product and the rest are higher end products.
Different brands: There’s a bigger range of products with Glossybox whereas with the Birchbox I felt like it was the same brands all the time.
Shop: They don’t have a shop and I think Glossybox are really letting themselves down because I loved that Birchbox had their own shop.
Social Media: Glossybox don’t have an app and I wish they did as I find apps a lot easier and less faffing around but I can work with it.
That’s it for my con’s, there aren’t many as I’ve not had this box for long at all but I’ll keep this space updated.
So which box wins for me?
Glossybox, I will be trying out this box for 2018 and I will keep you all updated.
